Fusion 360 Drawings

Drawings in Fusion 360. Were should I start? For quite some time, in my opinion, drawings in Fusion have been a dumpster fire. So much so that I’ve been known to lobby members of the Fusion team to scrap drawings and start from scratch. The good news is that drawings have been steadily improving and receiving attention. I have a lot of faith in the Fusion drawing project manager.

The good news is that drawings have matured to a point where they entering professional CAD territory. We will continue to see a focus on Fusion 360 drawings in 2022. The drawings Team has been very responsive to and open feedback. Autodesk also seems to be giving the team the resources needed to keep rapidly developing and improving the drawing environment.

I’ve been using Fusion for a really long time now. In fact, I’ve been using Fusion since before it was a product. It was a preview called Project Forge when I first got the invite to give it a try. There were no drawings in Fusion for quite some time. I’ve also been an Autodesk Inventor user for quite some time. That has given me the knowledge and insight to know how to create custom drawing templates from scratch. While Fusion drawings were growing up, I didn’t feel the product was ready to spend the time and effort to create custom drawing templates. Withe recent changes and improvements, I’m now willing to say that Fusion drawings are ready for this service.
